We held our breath when Malibu freshened for the first time… she was just so lovely! Her mammary system was exactly what we had hoped for, being beautifully arched into her escutcheon with near ideal teat placement and a smoothly blended fore udder. Then, to our sadness, she went off balance within a few days of kidding and despite our best efforts we were not successful in evening her out during her lactation. So, we made the decision to dry her up early in order to be able to treat her aggressively during the dry period in hopes she would freshen evenly as a second freshener. Unfortunately Malibu once again freshened off balance in 2016 and we came to terms with the fact that she will likely never see the show ring again. Boy... how wrong were we?! In 2017 Malibu came in balanced and ready to hit the show circuit! She easily finished her championship in her first 2 rings by winning GCH and BOB! She then went to the 2017 ADGA National Show where she placed 6th in a beautiful class of Four-Year-Olds! We couldn't be happier that Malibu finally did what we always hoped for... what a girl!
Malibu's first daughter in our herd, GCH Blissberry Malibu Coco Cooler 7*M EX92, earned her dry leg at her only show in 2015 and finished her permanent championship in her first 2 show ring appearances in 2018! Another daughter, GCH Blissberry Malibu Bay Breeze 7*M (owned by our great friend Brenda Goff), earned her dry leg as a baby and finished her championship as a first freshening 2 year-old! Malibu's youngest milking daughter, SGCH Blissberry Malibu Island Cosmo 7*M finished her championship in 2019 with 3 GCH and 1 BOB win!
