Back in the spring of 2012 I wanted to surprise Dan with a baby Ober out of one of his very favorite does. When GCH White Haven Mocha 3*M EX91, the 2010 ADGA National Champion, had twin does, Megan Okeson was generous enough to help me out with my secret plan and sent one of the beautiful babies here. Fast forward a year later and SGCH New Dreams CB Mocha's Esmeralda 4*M was named the 2013 ADGA Reserve Junior Champion Oberhasli!
Esme's first show this season was the 2017 ADGA National Show where she was the 1st place/1st Udder 5-6-Year-Old and then went on to be named the 2017 ADGA NATIONAL CHAMPION, BEST UDDER and TOTAL PERFORMER!!! Her littermate sister, CH New Dreams CB Mochas Rajah EX92 was right behind her in 2nd place with 2nd Udder... a flip of the 2016 ADGA National Show were Rajah was named ADGA National Champion with Reserve Best udder and Esme was 2nd place/2nd Udder right behind her! What a wonderful testament of Megan's years of dedication to breeding beautiful, consistent Oberhasli!
Upon returning home from Madison, Esme appraied EX92 EEEE for the second year in a row. Her second and last show of the year was the 2017 Minnesota State Fair where she was named Grand Champion, Best Of Breed and Best Udder! She also was awarded the High Production award as well! I just love this doe!
One of just a handful of Obers in the herd... we couldn't be more excited to be able to be able work with Esme! She is so beautifully long necked and high headed, excelling in dairy strength, carrying a long, flat bone pattern throughout. Her mammary is incredibly high and wide being very snugly attached with nice teat size and shape. Esme's recorded grade daughter in the Deidrago (previously New Dreams) herd, GCH Blissberry Half-Blood Princess 5*M, has shown very well for them, easily finishing her championship! Esme's yearling daughter, SG Blissberry Fortune Cookie 5*M VG87 was the 4th place Milking Yearling at the 2017 ADGA National Show and when teamed up with her beautiful mama they were the 1st place Dam & Daughter at both National Show and the 2017 Minnesota State Fair!
This is what breeding and raising dairy goats is all about... true friends who share their genetics, support and encouragement to fellow breeders! We are incredibly blessed to be surrounded by such wonderful people!
In fall of 2019 we dispersed the Oberhasli herd. While Esme still resides at Blissberry, Megan of Deidrago Dairy Goats is leasing her and will plan her breedings.
